Flu...and everything else....season

Flu season much?

If your home is anything like the thousands of others in our area, then it has been tried by fire....fire being the code word for strep, flu, and that ridiculous stomach virus. While I expect you to step up in all your parenting greatness, how do you manage the expectations of your nanny? What's the protocol?

Professional nannies work under the assumption that they are responsible for your little ones in sickness and in health. That said, you should allow them the autonomy to do what is necessary to keep themselves healthy. This means if they wear gloves, bring a mask, sanitize multiple times a day, quarantine certain toys.....please let them. It is not personal...I repeat...it-is-not-personal. They do not think your babies are gross, they aren't trying to be offensive, they are simply trying to protect the investment you made in them. It only benefits you, the client, for your nanny to be and stay well.

So I encourage you to not only allow them to be proactive but do one better and provide them with the necessary tools (masks, gloves, disinfectant, hand sanitizer, Kleenex, etc).

We're all in this together. Let's keep our homes, families and nannies healthy and productive.

Have a beautiful nanny day! #teamnoflu
